Some common treatments for interstitial cystitis include:
 
  • Medication
  • Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)
  • Surgery (in extreme cases).

 

Some patients also try self-help strategies, such as changing their diet, exercising, and quitting smoking.
