Additional Drugs That React With Cipro XR

Pentoxifylline
Cipro XR may increase the amount of pentoxifylline in your body, potentially increasing your risk for side effects of pentoxifylline, such as headaches. Let your healthcare provider know if you develop bothersome headaches when taking these drugs together.
 
Phenytoin
Cipro XR may decrease or increase the amount of phenytoin in your body, potentially making phenytoin less effective or increasing your risk for side effects. In particular, your risk for seizures may be increased. Talk to your healthcare provider about this drug interaction if you take phenytoin.
 
Probenecid
Taking probenecid with Cipro XR may increase the amount of Cipro XR in your blood, potentially increasing your risk for side effects. Be especially watchful for Cipro XR side effects if you take these medications together.
 
Quinapril
Quinapril can bind to Cipro XR in the digestive tract, preventing it from being absorbed into the bloodstream. Separate your Cipro XR and quinapril doses by at least two hours to help minimize the chance of this interaction.
 
Ropinirole
Cipro XR may increase the amount of ropinirole in your body, increasing your risk for side effects. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely for side effects of ropinirole if you take these medications together.
 
Sevelamer
Sevelamer can bind to Cipro XR in the digestive tract, decreasing the amount that is absorbed into the bloodstream. You should take Cipro XR at least one hour before or three hours after sevelamer.
 
Sucralfate
Sucralfate can bind to Cipro XR in the digestive tract, decreasing the amount that is absorbed into the bloodstream. You should take your Cipro XR dose at least four hours before or six hours after sucralfate.
